A capture hood (flow measuring hood) is an instrument used to measure volumetric air flows from supply or exhaust diffusers and grilles. The Alnor version of the capture hood is called a Balometer. Most capture hoods include lightweight fabric hoods of sizes to match common terminals, a meter readout device mounted on a sturdy flow base, and a measuring manifold mounted in the base.

The Alnor® EBT721 Balometer® Capture Hood  features a detachable multipurpose digital manometer that can be used with a variety of common test and balance tools, such as pitot, air flow, temperature, relative humidity probes or a 16-point Velocity Matrix. It will become the tool of choice for contractors and facilities personnel because of its ergonomic design and extremely light weight. The EBT721 Capture Hood is a multipurpose electronic air balancing instrument for reading air volume flow at diffusers and grilles.
